Orientation to Hindu Studies:What is Hinduism?

Hinduism is one of the oldest and most complex religions in the world. It has no single founder, no central authority, and no single scripture. Hinduism is a way of life for more than 1 billion people around the world.

The word “Hindu” comes from the Sanskrit word for river, sindhu. The Persians who came to India in the 6th century BCE used this word to refer to all the peoples who lived beyond the River Indus.  If you want to learn more information about Orientation to hindu studies, You may visit this website https://www.hua.edu/product/orientation-to-hindu-studies/

Hinduism is a family of religious traditions native to the Indian subcontinent. These traditions share common themes but also have a great deal of diversity. The major Hindu traditions include Shaivism, Vaishnavism, and Shaktism. There are also many minor traditions, such as Smartism and Tantra.

Does Hinduism Have A Creator?

In Hinduism, the concept of a creator is not as straightforward as in other religions. There are many different interpretations of who or what created the universe in Hinduism, and there is no single answer that is universally accepted. Some Hindus believe in a personal god who created the universe, while others believe that the universe was created by a force that is beyond our understanding. Still others believe that the universe has always existed and will always exist, without any need for a creator.

It is a common misconception that Hinduism does not have a creator. This is likely because the concept of a single, all-powerful creator god is not central to Hindu beliefs. Instead, Hindus believe in a supreme being who is both immanent and transcendent, meaning that he is both present in the world and beyond it. This supreme being is often referred to as Brahman.
